Additional Curricular Offerings for Grades 7-8
Students in grades 7 and 8 may tryout for the handbell choir or the Clover Choir. Both of these choirs offer students the opportunity to build their musical skills. The Clover Choir is an award-winning choir that travels throughout the country.
Students in grades 7 and 8 are issued a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year. The Chromebook is used in each subject area as a tool to complete assignments both collaboratively and individually. Additionally students go to the computer lab each week and are introduced to a variety of technology related skills as well as programs and apps.
After-school classes provide theatrical training, both onstage and behind the scenes, for students in grades 5-8. Fall and Spring productions offer students the opportunity to perform for live audiences.
Students in grades 7 and 8 receive a serious introduction to Latin (1.5 hours/ week).
Students in grades 7-8 have both weekly dance class as well as an art class. These classes allow the students to take part in a well-rounded education that includes academic subjects, the arts, physical education, and foreign language.
PE and Sports
Students participate in physical education class twice per week. Physical fitness and teamwork are focal points of the instruction. Competitive team sports are available to students in grades 5-8. Sports include: football, basketball and volleyball for boys and volleyball, basketball and softball for girls.
